Wings Over Camarillo

Despite FAA cancellation of air races, the Wings Over Camarillo Air Show was still a hit. The Ultimate Air Race Champions had planned to race around inflated pylons, but safety concerns led to an FAA ban. Here's a link to Los Angeles Times story on FAA ban.
I attended the Sunday air show and posted these my images to my Flickr account. One of the highlights was the presence of two restored Japanese World War 2 zeros, images above.

Civil War image

For this image, I started with a 2010 sepia image of the Civil War reenactment in Moorpark, California. I started with ToonPaint and used xs, xs and medium settings keeping the color. In Halftone use Aurora, no border. Final step was in AutoPainter 2 using felt tip.

Day/Veterans Day
While walking around downtown Buellton yesterday I found this war memorial to US Marine Cpl. Aaron M. Allen. A good reminder to remember the soldiers. Here is link to Allen's page in the Los Angeles Times California Wardead Database.
Today members of the California National Guard 1-140th Aviation Battalion is returning home.
