Aug. 19, 2017: Western-themed iron-works on the exterior of the former Blaine Hotel in Chadron, Nebraska. The upscale hotel opened about 1889 - after being put for a sheriff's sale to repay the building contractor. On June 13, 1893, the 1000 mile Chadron-Chicago Cowboy Race began here. The race ended on June 27, 1893, in Chicago at Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show. After some conterversy, Joe Gillespie has descaled the winner. Today the Blaine Hotel is an apartment building.
My thoughts on images past and present.
