Boston Red Sox outfielder Jim Rice takes batting practice after mid-season promotion in 1974 from the Pawtucket Red Sox minor league team. Rice played his entire 16-year career with the Boston Red Sox. He won the American League's Most Valuable Player award in 1978 and in 2009 was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
